Meet Ella Yoo

“Designing jewelry where every piece holds a narrative — Life, a boundless canvas, craves the purity of honest hues.” — Ella Yoo

Based in Los Angeles, designer and painter Ella Yoo defines jewelry not merely as an ornament, but as ‘Wearable Art’ that captures emotions and stories.

Guided by the brand philosophy, “Artistic Dialogues in Jewelry,” she explores the depths of the human psyche—emotions often too complex for words—through color and sophisticated forms.

Her creative process frequently begins on a canvas. The colors, shapes, and emotional flows discovered through painting are meticulously translated into jewelry using ethically sourced gemstones and fine craftsmanship.

These creations aspire to be ‘Modern Heritage’ pieces, blending artistic depth with a delicate sense of wearability. Beyond her studio, Ella Yoo serves as a director for a non-profit organization supporting women and communities in Los Angeles.

Through her “Jewelry Meets Art” lectures, she shares the artistic and historical significance of jewelry with the public. Her work always begins with a single, fundamental question: “What emotions and narratives are woven into this piece?”

Our mission is to craft more than jewelry; we strive to create narratives that find a permanent home in your heart.

Story of Ella Yoo

Meet Ella Yoo #1

I believe that a brand is built over a long period of time.

By understanding the founder’s journey, I can see the brand’s philosophy with much greater depth and clarity.

Therefore, I wanted to share the story of how Ella Yoo Jewelry began, and the personal journey that shaped its creation.

I majored in Creative Writing in South Korea with a strong interest in poetry.

A poem inspired by one of Van Gogh’s paintings sparked my fascination with both Van Gogh and painting.

For my graduation project, I presented a critique exploring the creative dialogue between literature and painting, examining Van Gogh through both images and poetry.

In 2016, I majored in jewelry design at RIT in the U.S.

It was around this time that I began painting abstract works in earnest.

My paintings became an important source of inspiration for my jewelry designs, and in turn, my jewelry work influenced my paintings.

I often found myself sitting in a corner of the school studio, painting abstracts, gradually developing my own unique artistic style.

The Portfolio video Ella submitted to the jewelry design program in the U.S. in 2015.

Began with the idea that paint on a canvas transforms into jewelry.

In my 2020 graduation showcase, I explored the unseen emotions of human nature.

I expressed these invisible feelings through abstract paintings and then reimagined them in jewelry form.

It became a true collaboration between painting and jewelry, with both mediums displayed together as one continuous narrative.

After graduating, I further expanded my expertise through the Gemological Institute of America’s Applied Jewelry Professional program.

Through this journey, the brand motto “Artistic Dialogues in Jewelry” was born.

ARTistic Dialogues in Jewelry

As a painting jewelry designer, my 15-year journey of expanding the boundaries between art and adornment has shaped who I am today.

My pieces are artistic dialogues, translating the colors and emotions of paintings into the language of metal and gemstones.

These works are the culmination of my ongoing dialogue between painting and jewelry. What began as abstract painting has gradually taken form in metal and gemstones, each piece carrying the memory of color, emotion, and thought.

Rather than treating jewelry as mere adornment, I approach it as a medium of expression. Each work translates the invisible—emotions and inner narratives—into tangible form, allowing art to be worn, felt, and lived with.

My pieces do not imitate paintings; they converse with them. They exist at the intersection of art and jewelry, where color becomes structure and emotion becomes material.

This is not the end of a journey, but a continuation— an evolving body of work shaped by consciousness and the quiet transformation of unseen moments into something visible.
